 Although it's 70 degrees in La Jolla (not like that ever changes) I'm pretending it's chilly because I'm finalizing the fall collection for Borelli.  Fall 2012 is leaning towards jewel tones and grandma chic, a random yet fun mix of prints and colors inspired by my travels in India and my late Grandmother Lorraine.

I was flying back to San Diego after a week in Salt Lake City for the Outdoor Retailer show and Alt Summit.  It was an exhausting trip and I just wanted to cuddle up to my Southwest Airlines seatmate.  TDH rarely gets jealous but that would be going too far.  So, I cuddled with my wrap dress instead.  I designed it back while attending UCLA for undergrad.  (Yes, I keep clothes for a VERY long time, I still wear things from high school.)  The boots were a very calculated purchase, I didn't have enough confidence to pull them off at first.  But once I took the plunge I couldn't take them off.  You can ride a bike or wear a sexy dress or mini shorts with 'em.

This week we have a drop waist 1920's inspired dress, straw cloche and photos of all the things I wanted to take home from last weekend's trip to the flea market.

Shooting Borelli's Spring/Summer 2012 Collection in Belize

For this season's Borelli campaign we headed to Belize.  We spent a week shooting the new Spring/Summer colors at Matachica Resort and Spa and Ak'bol Yoga and Eco Retreat on San Pedro Island.  The bright teal ocean, vibrant casitas and white sands were the perfect backdrop for our new palette of Tangerine, Lilac, Bahama Green, Navy and Sunrise Pink.  You can view more of the shoot on our Facebook Page.

Drift 3 - Big Red Valentines Day

TDH and I usually stay in for Valentine's Day and make a three course dinner.  But that doesn't mean I can't dress up all sexy.  Whether you are having a sunset picnic, breakfast in bed or a night out without the kids this Tuesday try to branch out from your normal attire.  I love wearing red, it's an instant mood-lifter.  I may have gained the nickname BIG RED from dancing on top of tables in a bright red prom dress while living in New York City but we'll leave that story for another post.  What color are you planning on wearing for Valentine's Day?

I usually HATE online shopping.  I want to touch the fabric, try on the dress, and shoes, well, I have enormous feet, 10.5 and SUPER narrow so online shoe shopping is out of the question.  BUT, every so often I find a site that I have to restrain myself from adding a little something to my cart everyday.  It's dangerous.  So far I bought a subscription to Fast Company for $7, an electric coral travel backpack for $14 and today my love for backpacks is haunting me again.  I could charge my computer and phone while riding my bike to work, how amazing is that!  I also have my eye on the Cote D'azur Vintage travel print. 

How did I find this new guilty pleasure?  A friend from grad school is a co-founder. He was the loudest in terms of fashion, mind and external volume in our program at Parsons.  Class was never dull with Bradford.  We used to joke around about opening a boutique and selling my award winning cupcakes in the store next to his couture dresses.  Congratulations Bradford I'm proud of you!
