Video Friday - The 408k Race to the Row

My family and I ran the inaugural 408k Race to the Row last weekend.  We tested the newest product from Borelli, Borelli Bands.  They were a hit!

Spartan Race

Need some motivation? Sign up for a Spartan Race.  My mud run at the Rose Bowl pales in comparison.  Have you ever done an obstacles race?

Not your average Yoga Video

Break ton Neck from Alex Yde on Vimeo.

As the week winds down I've been giving myself a break and watching videos, love his moves almost as much as I love the soundtrack.

Don't forget to stay active this Christmas -  take a family walk, do squats in front of the oven or bicep curls with your favorite glass of wine.  Cheers!

3 Day Walk - Susan G. Komen

BORELLI Design and Simply Stunning Weddings and Events spent the weekend cheering on thousands of walkers complete the Susan G. Komen 3 Day for the Cure.  What is it?  Women, men, young and old walk 60 miles over 3 days raising money for breast cancer and honoring those who battle the disease.  Their dedication and heart was inspiring.  We did the best we could to lift their spirits and get them to the next mile by handing out tangerines, licorice, smiles, hoots and hollers and high fives.  Congratulations to all you walkers, you are truly amazing!

Interested in signing up the next walk, sign up here!

TriRock Shoot

A few photos from the TriRock photoshoot on Tuesday.

Marisol adding the finishing touches

What is TriRock?  Ever run a Rock n Roll Half or Full Marathon?  Similar concept.  Live bands cheering you on while you swim, bike and run, finish line is more like a red carpet celebrity party and last but not least, free beer!  Keep an eye out for the campaign next year.

A big thank you to the team I worked with -

Tag - Design Manager, couldn't ask for a better person to dump buckets of freezing water over my head.
Felipe Loureiro - Buffest male athlete I've ever seen, and I imagine an inspiring triathlon coach.
Marisol - Make-up artist, she can work wonders with a little blush and olive oil spray.
Nils - Photographer, instantly makes you feel comfortable.

Rockstar Tambourine Workout

A few months ago I found myself envying Noelle Scaggs perfectly sculpted arms. I had never heard of her band, Fitz and the Tantrums but was quickly dancing and singing. Her energy was contagious!  I'm always on the hunt for a new arm workout.  I dread working my arms, Pilates and Bar Method help but I always feel like I have to do extra cardio after.  So when I'm pressed for time I run which doesn't do much for your arms other than make em' jiggle. I was lucky enough to have dinner tonight with the fitness instructor queen of Orange County, Cat Myklebust.  I'm hoping she can whip up a little something so we can pretend like we are rockstars while tightening up our arms. If you live in OC check out her classes, she will kick your butt!

By now, most of you have heard their songs on the radio and this week they are offering a free download for "Don't Gotta Work it Out".  It's an awesome workout song, perfect for your maintenance runs while training for a half or full marathon. Malibu is only 3 weeks away!  EEEK!

Check out this short video to see what I'm talking about.  You wish you had a tambourine!

Half Marathon Training

Anyone need a RUNNING goal/plan/schedule?  I do!  I'm running the Malibu Half Marathon, Sunday November 13th.  It's a little less than 2 months away, time to get SERIOUS about training.  I'll be following the Intermediate Plan from Runners World.  Following a plan helps me track my times, progress and who doesn't like making big fat X's on a to-do list.  Even if you don't have a race in November, join me training anyways.

Running shoes collecting dust?  The first few weeks might be rough but when you get discouraged read this book.  You will be wishing you could run and read it at the same time.  INSPIRING!
